SemFood is a fake food delivery app: nothing is charged for orders and nothing is delivered. The questions people ask first:
Does the food arrive?
No. Nothing is delivered and nothing is charged. SemFood is a food delivery simulator: you go through the whole ordering journey (menu, cart, checkout, courier on the map, delivery notification) and at the end the receipt says "charged: $0.00". Before every order, the app asks whether you understand that.
What's a dopamine app (or "dopanime")?
It's the nickname for an app that gives you the feeling of something without the thing itself. A shopping dopamine site lets you fill your cart and check out without spending anything. SemFood is the food delivery version of that. The term shows up spelled several ways ("dopamine app", "dopanime", "dopamine site") and they all mean the same thing.
Is it free?
Ordering is always free, because no order is ever charged: there's no paying for food here. What does exist is an optional subscription that raises your daily pretend-spending limit and unlocks things like Turbo Delivery and courier chat. The Free plan gives you $30 of pretend spending per day.
Do you ask for my card number?
Never. There's no card form on any screen of the app: a card number field in a fake shopping app would be an invitation for someone to type in a real card. At checkout you choose Pix, the SemFood Card (which is drawn on screen and never typed) or "pay on delivery". The subscription, if you have one, is paid through Mercado Pago or your app store, outside the order flow.
Are the restaurants real?
No. The two hundred restaurants, the menus, the courier photos and the ratings are all made up. What's real is the geography: the restaurants sit at spots where real businesses exist near you, and the courier's route runs along real streets. No real chain or brand name appears in the lineup.
Is it safe? What do you keep about me?
Your account is a phone number and a password. We keep your name, phone number, the addresses you save and the history of your simulated orders. There's no food payment data because there's no food payment. Email is optional and only used to send receipts.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Packages bought on the website are one-time payments and don't renew: they simply expire on their end date, and you get a heads-up in the app before that. There's nothing to cancel. A monthly subscription bought through the app store is canceled in the store itself.
Which devices does it work on?
Android, through Google Play. The iPhone version is on its way.
